1. US rating agency Moody has downgraded India's foreign currency and local currency long term issuer rating to Baa3 from Baa2 due to lower financial growth rate of India. It has also expected the country's GDP to contracted to 4% in the current financial year.

2. World Milk Day is observed  globally on 1 June every year. It aims to provide information about the need and importance of milk in a human being's life.

3. PM Modi has launched a technology platform named 'CHAMPIONS' for the MSME sector. The term CHAMPION stands for Creation and Harmonious Application of Modern Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength.

4. DRDO (Defence Research Development Org) has recently developed a disinfection unit called 'Ultra Swachh'. It will disinfect the articles such as PPEs, electronic items, fabrics etc.

5. Government of India has increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) by ₹53 per quintal for 14 Kharif crops. The MSP of Paddy has been fixed at ₹1868 per quintal fort the year 2020-2021.

6. Shri Pradip Kumar Tripathi has assumed to be appointed  as Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Govt. of India on 1 June 2020. He would replaced Binoy Kumar.

7. International Archery coach Jayantilal Nanoma has passed away just at the age of 34 by a road accident in Rajasthan. He also an Archery player and secured Asia cup and Asian Grand Prix medal in 2010.

8. Global Day of Parents on 1st of June every year is celebrated by United Nation to honour all the parents throughout the world. It emphasizes on the critical role of parents in the rearing of children.

9. Bollywood singer and music composer Wajid Khan passed away at the age of 43 due to Kidney failure. He has done so many work in the hit films like Veer, Partner  etc with his brother Sajid Khan in the past.

10. 2nd June is  celebrated as the Telangana Formation Day. In 2014, 2nd June  Telangana was inaugurated as a separate State and Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao became its first Chief Minister. E S L Narasimhan became the first Governor of the State.

6.  An American private equity firm KKR has agreed to purchase 2.32% stake in Reliance Industries(Jio) with the amount ₹11,367 crore ,confirms its biggest investment in Asia.

7. Australian eight time Tennis Grand Slam winner Ashley Cooper has died at the age of 83.He was renowned as 'a giant of the game'.

8.  India has become the second largest producer of PPE(Personal Protective Equipment) after China. The Ministry of Textile has taken several measure to maintain the good quality of PPE.

9. NTPC has signed a MoU with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), the PSU under Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas on 22 May. It aims to set up a Joint Venture (JV) Company for the Renewable Energy business.

10. International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) is observed on 22 May to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. This year the theme was "Our solutions are in nature".

5. One group of scientists from New Zealand have discovered the 'Super Earth', is one of the handful of planets that are of same size and orbiting distance as that of the earth.

6. Indian Army has launched a great initiative named 'ToD' i.e Tour of Duty to eradicate the unemployment generated during the lockdown period. This is three year internship for youth to work as officers and soldiers in the Indian Army.

7. Chhattisgarh will launch Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana on 21 May on the commemoration of the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. It aims to stimulate the rural economy in the state, amid the slowdown caused by by the COVID-19 pandemic.

8. India along with other 61 countries in the World Health Organisation (WHO) has joined to identify the source of COVID-19. The resolution is important as the bigger economies specially China and US are politicizing the origin of the virus.

9. The severe cyclonic storm 'Amphan' in the Bay of Bengal has intensified and will probably cross West Bengal - Bangladesh cost on 20th May. Indian Meteorological Department has informed that it has winds at the rate of 90-117 kmph. 

10. World Telecommunication Day was celebrated on 17th May. The focus on this year’s agenda of commemorating the day for global connectivity with the help of information technology.

3. Country's first person i.e President Shri Ram Nath Kovind has decided to forgo 30% of his salary for the whole year to fight against pandemic COVID-19. 

4. Pakistan government has signed a contract of worth Rs.442 billion for a joint venture between Chinese state firm and the commercial arm of Pak army for the construction of 'Diamer-Bhasa' dam in Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan.

5. The National Rifle Association has recommended the silver medalist in World Shooting Championship, Anjum Moudgil for the prestigious 'Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna' award for this year.
6. Recently the Food and Agricultural Organisation(FAO) has released the Global Forest Resources Assessment Report-2020 where it showed around 178 million hectares of forest is lost in the last 30 years.

7. A low cost PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), designed and produced by the Indian Navy has received a patent.

10. The WEF's (World Economic Forum) recently released Global Energy Transition Index-2020 , India ranked 74th position among 115 countries . Sweden has topped the list followed by Switzerland.
