1. World Population Day is celebrated every year on 11th July. It was established by the governing council of  United Nation first time in 1989. The aim to remember this day in 2020: Peace in the home, to increase awareness about ongoing health problems and safeguarding the health and rights of women. As per the estimation human population in the world will reach about 10 billion in the next three decades.

2. Lausanne, the headquarters of International Olympic Committee (IOC) in has been awarded the European 2020 US Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership Award for advancing the development of sustainable, healthy and resilient buildings, cities and communities in regions around the world”.

3.Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has been launched AI based digital platform named “Aatmanirbhar Skilled Employee Employer Mapping (ASEEM)” to bridge demand-supply gap of skilled workforce across sectors and to improve the information flow.

4. According to a study conducted by the Centre for Global Health Research (CGHR) in Toronto University that India has recorded 1.2 million snakebites deaths in the past two decades in which 70% of them occurred in low altitude(8 states).

5. The government of India has extended the tenure of Rajkiran Rai as the managing director and chief executive officer of the Union Bank of India for a period of 2 years.

6. NCPCR(National Commission for Protection of Child rights) has scolded the Rajasthan government for its new guidelines on elementary education because it violating the RTE Act. 2009 and hiding the scope to provide free education to economically weaker section at primary level.

7.  American Defence manufacturing company Boeing handed over the last five(within in the contract of 22) AH-64E Apache Attack helicopters to the Indian Air Force , part of it already deployed at the Leh Air base. 

8. Turkey president Tayyip Erdogan has declared capitals iconic museum Hagia Sophia now opens to Muslim prayer as a Mosque. Hagia is also one of the world heritage sites of UNESCO. Previously it was also a cathedral later turned to mosque.

9. Chinese Central bank i.e. 'Peoples Bank of China' has cut its stake in mortgage lender Housing Development Finance Corporation(HDFC) Ltd to less than 1%.

10. According to the data released by Reserve Bank of India(RBI) state Tamil Nadu has topped market borrowings among states in the country. It has raised ₹30,500 crores in the fiscal 2020-21. Maharashtra and Andhra takes second and third positions respectively.

4. Almost 13lakh Indian army has directed to remove 89 application including Facebook and Instagram from their mobile phones by 15th July. Army Personnel told this decision the major step taken in order to prevent information leak through those apps.

5. India will take quick decision on the inclusion of Australia in the MALABAR exercises with Japan and US by next week. The exercise started in 1992 as a bilateral exercise between India and US ,in 2015 Japan joined as a trilateral format.

6. Australian PM Scott Morison said they were suspending their extradition treaty with Hong Kong, offered visas to residents looking to start a new life , businesses etc.

7. London based oil company BP and India's Reliance Industries Ltd. have joined hand and start of their new Indian fuels and mobility joint venture named as 'Jio-BP'.

8. India based e-commerce company Flipkart group(part of Walmart) has invested ₹260 crore to acquire a minor stake in 'Arvind Youth Brands', a subsidiary of Arvind Fashion Ltd.

9. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch the first observation satellite named 'Amazonia-1', entirely developed by Brazil probably in next month.

10. America's BofA Securities estimated that India's GDP will contract by 3% in financial year-2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, assuming some estimates ranging up to 7% negative growth.

3. Indian Railways has joined hand with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commissioned a project of 1.7 MWp in Madhya Pradesh. It is is to transform itself as ‘Net Zero’ Carbon Emission Mass Transportation Network by 2030.

4. Karnataka government has launched a relief scheme “Nekara Samman Yojane” for the Silk, cotton, wool and other handloom weavers. The state government has allocated ₹10.96 crore for the project.

But as the work limit almost completed, the activist request to the Central Govt. about the increment of the working days up to 200 day with wages ₹600/day.

2. Israel has announced that it has successfully launched of a new 'Ofek 16' spy satellite into orbit by using a locally developed Shavit rocket from a launch pad at Pamachim airbase in Central Israel. The satellite will monitor Iran and developments its nuclear and missile program.

3. Indian Private sector bank HDFC offers instant car loans to existing customers through an initiative called “ZipDrive” in 1,000 cities. It is a technology-enabled loan product where credit assessment is done by banking software.

4. Finally Haryana Cabinet has cleared the proposal for drafting the Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Ordinance-2020, to provide 75% reservation to the resident having monthly income less than ₹50,000 of its own state in jobs in the private sector.

5. According to the latest World Drug Reports of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), India becomes the fourth seizure of Opium . The maximum of 644 tonnes of opium seized in Iran followed by Afghanistan.

6. Founder of Paytm, Vijay Sekhar Sharma has announced that it will acquire 100% stake in private sector general insurance company Raheja QBE for a undisclosed amount.

7.  Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur has developed an innovative virtual classroom named 'Mobile Masterjee' . It is designed to record the lectures by the faculty using smartphones. It can capture the videos in vertical and horizontal position.

8. According to 'UN's Global E-Waste Monitor 2020' report India ranks third largest electronic waste generator in the world after China and America. Europe ranked first worldwide in terms of e-waste generation per capita with the value 16.2 kg/capita.

9. CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has made an agreement with Facebook to launch a free and comprehensive training program for teachers and students . It will be for three weeks in which approximately 10,000 teachers and students will be trained on digital safety and well being.

2. American global investment farm Kohlberg Krevis Roberts (KKR) & Co.Inc will purchase 54% stake from Mumbai based JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals is worth of ₹3,109 crore. Through this deal KKR will be acquiring 41.7 million equity shares of JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals.

3. Recently French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has resigned from his post. This is due to the internal clash and government reshuffle procedure made by President Emmanuel Macron. Macron picks 'Jean Castex' as their new president .

5.  "Fit India" program has launched a series of interactive sessions titled "Fit India Talks" with some of the top sportspersons of India on 3 Jul, organized in association with the Sports Authority of India and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

4. Nagaland government has decided to ban completely the commercial import and sales of Dogs and Dog's meat. The decision comes after the continuous appeal and protest by the Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisation (FIAPO).  The same kind of decision have already taken by the Mizoram government in the month of March this year.

6. Intel Capital , the investment body of Intel has promised to invest ₹1894.5 crore in Jio Platform, taking the total investment of ₹1,17,588.45 crore. It will help and boost the capital strength of Jio.

7. Eminent versatile Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan has passed away recently at the age of 71 due to cardiac arrest. She was known to highlight emotions in her four decade long dance career. She choreographed nearly 2000 songs.


8. Tamil Nadu state government has announced a monthly stipend of ₹3000 to junior lawyers for two years to overcome their financial difficulties. The state also implemented 'Advocates Welfare Scheme' for more than three decades.

9. President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate the 'Dhamma Chakra Day' on Asadha Poornima on the 4th July,2020. Union Ministry of Culture is organising this event in partnership with International Buddhist Council .

3. Ahmedabad-based Zydus Cadila Healthcare's COVID-19 vaccine gets final approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) .The vaccine will be used for human clinical trials.

4. Former eminent Mizoram assembly speaker(1990) Upa Rokamlova has passed away recently. He was very instrumental to the signing of the Mizo Peace Accord in 1986. He has left politics in 1994.

5. Former RBI Governor C.Rangarajan  has been awarded with Prafulla Chandra Mahalanobis Life Time Achievement Award for his enormous contribution in Statistics.  

6. Centre has approved the 'Special Liquidity Scheme' of ₹30,000 crore for Non-Banking Financial Companies(NBFCs) and Housing Finance Companies (HFCs). It will help and boost those sectors economy.

7. Legendary West Indies batsman Everton Weekes has passed away at the age of 95. He was famous for the ''Three Ws''frame, includes Worrell and Walcott. He played 48 Test for his country.

8. “Annual Marine Fish Landings in India for 2019”-the report prepared by Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI)has shown India’s marine fish production has increased marginally by 2.1% to 3.56 million tonnes in 2019 as compared to 2018. Tamil Nadu topped in annual fish production followed by Gujarat.

9. Government of India has provided 19 lakh households tap connections under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). It aims to provide functional household tap connections (FHTCs) to every rural household of the country by the year 2024.

10. Now in a days Odisha has decided to introduce locally produce millets for the first time under ICDS scheme and Public Distribution System (PDS). It will be carried out as a part of the Odisha's Millet Mission-2017.

1. Govt of India has launched Accelerate Vigyan to boost the scientific research mechanism. The new scheme was launched by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB). It aims to provide a single platform for research internships, capacity building programs, and workshops across the country.

2. Kerala gram panchayat has deployed two robot nurses named 'ASHA' at the COVID-19 first line treatment centre at the Thottackad Medical centre. They will take medicine, food and other necessary items up to 8kg to patients at the medical centre. 

3. Gudni Th. Johannesson has been re-elected as the President of Iceland. He has won his second four-year term as the president with 92% of the popular vote.

4. The government of Karnataka has launched a portal called “Skill Connect Forum” to connect job seekers with employers on a common platform. Both individual and employers can register on the portal which will match the requirement and availability.

5. 1990 batch IFS Officer Indra Mani Pandey has been appointed as the India's Ambassador and permanent representative to UN in Geneva . He will replace Rajiv Kumar Chander.

6. Shashank Manohar has formally stepped down as ICC(International Cricket Council) Chief as he completed four years of his tenure. Imran Khwaja from Singapore will take this position until election processes is finalised.

7.  Indian Navy and Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force have conducted a day long Naval Exercise named PASSEX for tactical and communications training, towards the Malacca Strait in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).

8.Union Government has enforced the amendments to the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, and the Indian Stamp (Collection of Stamp-Duty through Stock Exchanges, Clearing Corporations and Depositories) rules from 1st July,2020. The amendment will facilitate ease of doing business and to bring in the uniformity of the stamp duty on securities across states.

9. Indian current cricketing allrounder Ravinder Jadeja has been chosen as the name of the country's most valuable player of 21st Century by Wisden . He has played 43 Test,165 ODIs and 49 T20s as of 2020 for his country.

10. Two days back ,India and Bangladesh signed an agreement to form a  50:50 Joint Venture Company (JVC) of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) business in Bangladesh.

6. DCGI i.e. the Drug Control General of India has permitted human clinical trials of 'COVAXIN', country's first vaccine candidate for COVID-19. The trial schedule is expected to start from July. Hyderabad based Bharat Biotech has made it in collaboration with ICMR.

7. World largest Convalescent Plasma Therapy Trial project was launched in state Maharashtra. The name of the project is Platina. It will help in creating robust data for treating the disease for which no specific line of treatment exists.

8. India and Bhutan have joined hand and signed a pact for the construction of 600 MW Kholongchhu Hydel project in Bhutan's eastern region. It is a 50:50 joint venture project.

9. President Ramnath Kovind has reappointed  senior eminent K.K Venugopal as the Attorney General of India. His tenure has extended for a period of one year effective from 1st July.

10. The Reserve Bank of India has scheduled 'Operation Twist ' for July 2. It is when the RBI uses the proceeds from the sale of short term securities to buy long term govt. debt papers , leading to simpler the interest rates on the long term papers. RBI will purchase longer tenure govt. bonds  that are maturing in 2027,2029, 2031 and 2033.
