1. Justin Trudeau's Liberal party will remain in power in Canada but a narrow margin election win means he will head a minority govt. But Indian origin Jagmeet Singh the leader of NDP party has won 24 seats.

2. One in every six children from Bengal -as per the National Crime Report Bureau. Approx 1,19,013 children missing from the country every year of which 19,671(16.5%) were from West Bengal.

3. The world’s oldest natural pearl named ‘Abu Dhabi Pearl’ has been discovered on an island off Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It is about 8000 year old pearl.

4.  October, 2019 marks 25 years of Pulse Polio Programme in India. The Silver Jubilee of the Pulse Polio Programme is to be celebrated on 31 October 2019. Ministry of Health & Family Welfare is to organize an event at Dr. Ambedkar International Center, Janpath, New Delhi. Polio Free India: India was declared Polio free in 2014.

5. The white Belbird becomes the world loudest bird among the other birds.- a report has unveiled this. 

6. The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of senior IAS officer Sanjeev Nandan Sahai as the new power secretary. The order in this regard was issued by Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions.

7. Ayodhya 'Deepotsav' has given the State Fair tag by the UP govt. Approx ₹133 crore cost shall be used for this during Diwali.

8. Ranveer starer “Gully Boy” & Netflix series “Delhi Crime” have won awards at the Asian Academy Creative Awards. Best series and best editing and best direction award.

9. The government has appointed Tuhin Kanta Pandey as secretary of the department of investment and public asset management (DIPAM). He will replace Anil Kumar Khachi. The appointment of Mr. Pandey was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

10. Riya Bhati has won the ITF women’s tennis tournament in Lagos, Nigeria. She defeated Slovenian player Nastja Kolar of Slovenia 7-5, 1-6, 6-3 in the summit clash of the $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament.
