1UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and Doordarshan, country’s public service broadcaster have joined hands to telecast TV bilingual programme ‘Mahatma Lives‘ or ‘Bapu Zinda Hain’ on 1-2 October 2019. Today the whole country celebrates 150th birth anniversary of 'Father of the Nation'. On this eve also Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog’s Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) and UNICEF India, including Generation Unlimited, launched ‘The Gandhian Challenge’ for school children

2. India's oldest Chimpanzee 'Rita ' has died at the age of 59 years. She has stayed in Delhi zoo.


3. Central Ministry of Finance has launched the Documentation Identification Number i.e DIN system of the CBDT on 1st Oct. The DIN system is expected to ensure greater accountability and transparency in tax administration.

4. Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes won the 2019 Russia F1 Grand Prix (Formula 1 GP) at Sochi Autodrom race track in Russia.

5. Centre appoints economist Surjit S Bhalla as executive director for India at the IMF for a tenure of three years.


6. WEF's 33rd India Economic Summit is to be held from 3-4 October in New Delhi, India. The theme of the WEF's 33rd India Economic Summit is Innovating for India: ''Strengthening South Asia, Impacting the World''.

7. State Bank of India becomes the first bank in India to open its first branch in the Australian state of Victoria. This partnership has  timed for next 10 years.

8. Sanjay Kapoor appointed for most of the inspiring Indian Bollywood Actor in UK. The actor has been a part of some of the best films in the past.

9. Srilankan wicket keeper batsman Kumar Sangakara has taken charge as the president of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). He becomes the first non British president in this club.

10.  Punjab and Maharashtra Cooperative Bank Limited has a some problem with its customer for last week. RBI has appointed Jai Bhagwan Bhoria bank’s administrator with all powers of the bank.
