1.In view of  the crisis arising out of COVID-19 The Finance Ministry yesterday has issued an order to freeze the DA (Dearness Allowance) to the central employees and DR (Dearness Relief) to the pensioners at current rates till Jul 2021.

2. Every year 23rd April celebrated as World English day to observe both death and birth anniversary of William Shakespeare. The Spanish language day also observed on the same day.

3. State Maharashtra has reported a single day high cases, it reported a staggering 778 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday, with this states tally crossed 6000 mark.

4. First time in history the annual festival at Kamakhya temple in Assam has been cancelled due to maintain the social distancing to fight against COVID-19.

5. Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh a Mobile Virology Research and Diagnostics Laboratory (MVRDL) via video conference on 23 April. The Lab is developed by DRDO in association with ESIC.

6. The Confederation of Indian Industry assumed India's growth may slip to 1.5% in the next financial year 2021. It has estimated a contraction of 0.9% due to COVID-19.

7. BWF i.e The Badminton World Federation  named Indian shuttler PV Sindhu as one of the ambassadors for its 'I am badminton' awareness campaign.



8. The Union Cabinet led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved significant investments to the tune of Rs.15,000 crore for 'India COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health System Preparedness Package'.

9.  Star Sports has nominated all time great Chennai Super Kings Captain cool MS Dhoni IPL's Greatest of All Time(GOAT) captain. He has bagged three premier league titles for the team.



10. UEFA has postponed women's Euro 2021 and rescheduled to next year that is 2022. It has also postponed the next men's European championship.
