1. Country has reported 70 death cases in a single day which is highest in a single day -in the past 24 hours, more than 31k people have been affected by the COVID-19 and the total number of death toll mounted 1008.

2. One of the most legendary World (India) cinema star Irrfan Khan has passed away just at the age of 53. He died due to neuroendocrine tumour, a type of cancer.. He was started his carrier from Mira Nair's film 'Saalam Bombay (1988) , his last done film was 'Angrezi Medium'. He had taken part in the Hollywood film like Slumdog Millionaire, Life of Pi etc.


3. The appointments Committee of the Cabinet  headed by Prime Minister has appointed former finance secretary Rajiv Kumar as the chairperson of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on 29 April.

4. IIT Tirupati's Computer Science and Engineering department has developed a web and mobile game to beat boredom and keep the virus at bay. The name of the game is 'SurviveCovid-19'.

5. Centre has appointed T.S Tirumurti as the next Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations. He will replace Syed Akbaruddin .

6. The Airport Authority of India is trying to mulls limited flights with 30% capacity post COVID-19 lockdown. The officials told to ensure the passengers follow safety protocol and maintain social distancing.

7. The International Cricket Council has banned Deepak Agarwal ,an Indian businessman who owned a franchise of T10 team for violating the council's norms.

8. A report released by the 'Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation' that Indian economy decline up to  2.7% in the next few months of 2020 due to the severe ill impact of COVID-19. It has recorded a 3.6% economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region.

9. Nokia and Bharti Airtel has signed a deal of about $1 billion in order to enhance the network capacity of Bharti Airtel in the critical situation in country.


10. The Indian Meteorological Department has released 169 new names for the tropical cyclones in the region over Indian Ocean. The names were contributed by 13 different countries including India,Sri Lanka, Qatar, Maldives etc.
