1. From Kargil to Kanyakumari ,also from Porbandar to Lohit, 284 Indian districts have at least one COVID-19 case as per the data up to 8th April. But about 15 days ago the number was only 84 such district.

2. After 76 days of prolonged complete lockdown China has lifted Wuhan lockdown. About 55,000 people are expected to leave the city where the Corona cases begun on the first day.

3. England's mens cricketer Ben Stokes and Australian women's cricketer Ellyse Perry respectively won the 2020's 'Wisden Leading Cricketer of the year'.  

4. Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey has contributed $1 billion out of his personal fortune to coronavirus relief through his philanthropic fund.

5. Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched an online challenge called “SAMADHAN” to fight against COVID-19.

6. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) is to launch "iGOT platform," a learning platform to combat COVID-19 for all front-line workers. The digital platform to train all healthcare people who fight against coronavirus in India.

7. The Chhattisgarh police has developed the app ‘Rakhsa Sarv’, with the help of a  startup Mobcoder. It enables  them to track the quarantined people through Google Map. The purpose of launching the app is that a large number of people are kept in-home quarantine, and so it is not possible to keep each one under surveillance on a regular basis.

8. The carrot has high β-carotene and iron content named 'Madhuban Gajar' has recently developed by the by Shri Vallabhhai Vasrambhai Marvaniya, a farmer scientist from Junagadh district, Gujarat.


9. CCI i.e The Competition Commission of India  has approved the acquisition of GMR Kamalanga Energy Limited, the target, by JSW Energy Limited, the acquirer. The acquisition was done under Section 31(1) of the Competition Act, 2002 on 7 April.

10. Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul, Justice Sanjay Dhar and Justice Puneet Gupta have been appointed as the permanent Judges of Common High Court for the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir region.
