1. The infected COVID-19 cases in India touches 1 lakh, 5079 cases recorded yesterday, death cause mounts to 3157, India takes 4th place regarding the average new cases comes daily.

2. A massive jack fruit from Wayanad, Kerala weighing over 52kg and 117 cm long is eying to enter new Guinness book record. Earlier also world heaviest jack fruit came from India.

3. National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has developed an online Dashboard-National Migrant Information System (NMIS). It aims to capture the information regarding the movement of migrants and facilitate the smooth movement of stranded persons across States. 

4.  ICC's Anil Kumble led committee has banned the use of saliva to shine the ball as the health risk due to the threats of pandemic COVID-19.

5. Tata Consumer Products Ltd. has announced that it will buy Pepsico's stake in their joint venture NourishCo Beverages.

6. The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development i.e NABARD announced on 18th May that it had already disbursed ₹20,000 crore to the Co-operative banks and Regional Rural Banks (RRB) for lending to farmers in the critical situation.

7. World Hypertension Day  is observed globally on 17 May every year. It aims to promote public awareness of hypertension. The theme of this day in this year was '"Measure Your Blood Pressure, Control It, Live Longer."

8. Benjamin Netanyahu finally sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Israel for the fifth time on 17th May. He will be in power until 13 November 2021.

9. International Museum Day is celebrated every year on 18 May every year. It aims to raise the awareness about the importance of Museums which are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples. In this year the theme of the particular day was Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion” .

10. Zubair Iqbal has been appointed as new managing director of Jammu and Kashmir Bank for a period of three-year tenure.He was previously senior vice president of HDFC Bank.
