1. Centre has extended the ongoing lockdown period up to 17th May, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued new guidelines allowing considerable relaxation across red, orange green zones based on the evidence of COVID-19 infection, private cars and cabs to be allowed with fewer riders and buses with 50% commuters.

2. The Union Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has announced recently that Centre sanctioned Rs.33,300 crore under MGNREGA out of which Rs.20, 624 crore has been released to liquidate all outstanding dues of previous years towards wages and material.

3. Ministry of Defence has announced that it will contribute one day salary of all the employees every month to PM-CARES Fund to fight against this deadly virus.

4. IDFC bank becomes the first private sector lender has decided to raise equity capital of ₹2000 crore by way of a professional issue to five investors including ICICI Prudential Life Insurance company.

5. The United State Agency for International Development (USAID)has announced yesterday that it will provide 3 million USD for India's PAHAL( Partnership for Affordable Healthcare Access and Longevity).

6. The Delhi Police has launched titled AYURAKSHA "Corona Se Jung- Delhi Police Ke Sang" on two days back. It aimed to fight against corona through simple and time tested Ayurveda immunity-boosting measures.

7. ICC has released the latest Test and T20 ranking, Australia topped the ICC Test No.1 ranking replaced India due to its poor performance against New Zealand and Pakistan topped the T20 rankings.


8. Kashmir Saffron , the largest saffron producer in India gets Geographical Indication Tag (GI) . It has also aromatic spice possesses some medicinal properties.

9. Former World Snooker champion Peter Ebdon has announced that he is retiring from the sport due his recent spinal surgery. He won the 2002 World title.


10. The Expert Appraisal Committee has cleared the proposal to set up new parliament at ₹ 922 crores. The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has also supported the project.
