1. Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have launched the 'Government Authorisation for Relief Using Drones' (GARUD) portal to fast track approval to COVID-19 related drone operation.

2. The Tamil Nadu government has issued a special pass to transport 'Silk Vasthram' exclusively made for adorning Lord Shri Venkateshwara Swamy at  Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh.

3. Russia has announced that they will launch the country's first Arktika-M satellite from the Baikonur space center at the end of this year. The satellite will be used for monitoring the Arctic climate and the environment.

4. World Asthma day is observed globally on 5th May. I t aims to spread awareness about the Asthma disease widely. The theme of this particular day was in this year ' Enough Asthma Deaths'

5. Indian navy has dispatched two ships INS Jalashwa and INS Magar to male under operation 'Samudra Setu' to return Indian stranded citizens from Gulf countries . The evacuation operation will start from day after tomorrow.

6. Union Human Resource Development Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said on Tuesday that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for medical students will be held from 26th July and JEE Main entrance exam will begin in 18th July and continue from July 20 to 23.

7. China has successfully launched a new rocket and prototype spacecraft named 'Long March-5B' on 5th May, blasting off from the Wenchang Space Centre in Hainan. It will be used to transport astronauts to country's own space station.

8. Russian president Vladimir Putin has awarded North Korean president Kim Jong-un a commemorative war medal marking the 75th anniversary of the victory over Germany.

9. The New York Times has picked up the 3 Indian photographers as the 2020 Pulitzer prize winners. An injured Kashmiri girl in an image below was part among the winning list. It was announced virtually due to pandemic COVID-19 threat.

10. Indian think tank NITI Aayog along with Primal Foundation have jointly launched 'Surakshit Dada-Dadi and Nana-Nani Abhiyan'. It focuses to ensure the well being of the senior citizens including their lifestyle and health .
