1. Every year World Environment Day is observed globally on 5th June by the United Nation. This time the theme of the day is : 'Celebrate Biodiversity'. This year it is to be hosted in Colombia  in collaboration with Germany.

2. India and Australia has signed important defence agreement on 4th June. Yesterday PM Modi and Aussie PM Scott Morrison talked virtually and proceed towards 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership'. Some of the important agreement was :Mutual Logistic Support Agreement,  Framework agreement on Cyber Enabled Critical Technology, MoU on training and vocational education, arrangement related cooperation of defence treatment etc. The counties also decided to enhance their 2+2 foreign affairs and defece dialogues.

3. Virendra Nath Datt has been appointed as the Chairman & Managing Director of National Fertilizers Limited (NFL). He is right now marketing director of the company. He will replace Manoj Mishra.


4. Twitter has appointed Patrick Pichette as new board chairman. He served as Google’s CFO from 2008 until 2015. This is happens in the first time an outsider will chaired the entire group.

5. PM's private secretary Rajeev Topno has been selected as the senior Advisor to the Executive Director of World Bank in Washington ,DC. He is an IAS officer from 1996 batch in Gujarat cadre.

6. E commerce giant Amazon willing to buy $2 billion stake in Bharti Airtel, that could give e-commerce major 5% stake. If this happens in future then it will boost India's digital economy.

7. India pledged $15 million to 'Gavi' an international vaccine alliance , constituting 50 countries as a member- a statement came from PM Modi in the virtual Global Summit hosted by the British PM Boris Johnson.

8. Krishnendu Majumdar has been named as the Chairperson of BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) recently. He is an award winning producer, will replace Pippa Harris.

9. National Basketball Association (NBA) Hall of Famer, legendary Basket ball player, Wes Unseld has passed away in two days ago. He led his franchise ‘Washington Wizards’ to the NBA championship in 1978.

10. The National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research has reported recently that the Amery Ice shelf is expanding and it is to expand 24% by 2021. The assumption has come based upon the observation of 16 year long satellite.
